So many amazing recycled sculptures
Met Art World Melbourne, Review
If you are looking for a unique art gallery you can bring the kids to that’s interactive, check out Met Art, the new metal art exhibition in Port Melbourne!
Port Melbourne is now home to the biggest metal art gallery in Australia!!
All the metal art statues are handmade from scrap metal and recycled material. They are very impressive. This is such a unique experience and the sculptures are all very impressive.

So impressive!
As well as the art statues; upstairs there is another world of mazes, mirrors, lights, planets, jellyfish and green fields. This was the kids favourite area. You enter through the mirror maze, and Met Art World had the clever idea of pool noodles to help navigate your way!

Pool noodle coming through!!
The DIY workshops are heavily advertised on their website but the kids didn’t enjoy the build-your-own wooden puzzle. Small pieces, glue needed on some parts, and one bag only had Chinese instructions!! There are lots of different options on different days and times. This whole part of the experience could be waay better – I was thinking this would be an interactive art activity but it was literally choose your puzzle and off you go. I found all the interactive areas at Legoland in Chadstone remarkedly better.

This was the section that was really lacking in structure
Met Art World is totally family friendly and was not busy at all during the school holidays. I think I know why…..the entry price. It cost $100 for the kids and I to visit. I think at half that price it would have been fabulous and they’d probably get a fair few more families through the door.
Do we recommend it? Yes, I think it’s worth going to check it out if you are in the area; but it is expensive.
