Looking down on the suspended walkway at the Otway Fly.
The Otway Fly Treetop Adventures situated in the Great Otway National Park features a sensational Treetop Walk and Zipline Tour along with outdoor playgrounds, souvenir shop, café on site and education programs. Here is our review and everything you need to know 🙂
The 600-metre long and 25-metre high Otway treetop walkway provides a unique insight into the Otway Ranges magnificent flora & fauna, from the dense rainforest floor to the towering treetops way above your head.
There is a 45-metre tall spiral tower and cantilever viewing platform perched high above a creek which provides exhilarating and unparalleled views through the rain forest. You are definitely in the tree tops here. It’s so high above the ground!
We enjoyed our Otway Fly Treetop Adventures in winter. The Otways weather can change at any time! It was freezing so we rugged up. It was also really windy and we were surprised at how much the trees moved from side to side!
What you can find in this post
The Treetop Walk Experience
The Otway Fly Treetop Walk is a 600 metre long 30, metre high elevated tree top walk. The start of the elevated platform is about 1km from the visitor’s centre.

Looking across to the elevated platform.
The Otway Fly have thought about a way to keep the little legs walking though! With a fairy house hunt! The kids will run the 1km track to find the fairy houses!

Just some of the cute fairy houses along the way to and from the elevated platform
The raised platform itself is around 1.9km long which ascends at a gentle grade through a magnificent cool temperate rainforest featuring Myrtle Beech, Blackwood and Mountain Ash.
You can’t miss the 47-metre high lookout as it juts into the sky in front of you. Ascending the staircase was scary for me! Not so for the kids. At the top, you are totally amongst the treetops. It was gorgeous.

Arrgh, yep, it’s tall!
The total walk will take between 1 – 2 hours.
The Otway Zipline Tour Experience
Prospective zip-liners need to be a minimum of 4-years of age, not less than 125 centimetres tall and weigh a maximum of 120 Kgs. Hence we were not able to ride the zipline. I did speak to the staff at Otway Fly before we arrived to ask if they would let Olive ride since it’s her favourite thing to do. But they said no.
The Otway Fly website states “For the thrill seeker the Otway Fly Zip Line Tour is the perfect adrenalin fuelled activity where you can Zip across the treetops in this unique forest experience, gaining a bird’s-eye view of Otway’s beautiful forests. This exciting adventure lasts 2.5 hours and is unlike any other experience. The cost of the Zip Line Tour includes the Treetop Walk”
